WISDOM had good reason to celebrate a new victory for immigrant rights in Wisconsin. Members of the ten Gamaliel affiliate organizations in Wisconsin successfully worked to include “in-state tuition” in the state budget which was signed on June 29, 2009. This measure allows undocumented immigrant high school graduates to attend Wisconsin state universities and technical colleges by paying “in-state tuition”, a savings that can be upwards of $10,000 per year. Wisconsin now becomes the 11th state to enact such a law.
